TriHealth Bridge

June 17, 2024

Hi Team –

I hope you were able to enjoy last weekend’s amazing summer weather while celebrating Father’s Day with all of the special dads and father figures in your lives! A BIG shout out to all of our own wonderful fathers here at TriHealth! Speaking of summer, this Thursday marks the official start of the summer season. And here at TriHealth, we are kicking off summer with a bang on so many fronts, and here are just a few of the latest highlights...

Getting Healthcare Right
2024 TriHealth Engagement Survey Launches Today!
As I shared in last week’s Weekly Update, building and sustaining a great culture and work environment is at the heart of our work to Get Healthcare Right. And building a great culture – which supports our people in being their best and doing their best – starts with actively listening to, believing and acting on what our team members and physicians tell us will make TriHealth a great system for ALL those we serve – and those who serve!

And one of many ways we do this is through our annual engagement survey, which provides TriHealth leaders with an important opportunity to “see,” “hear,” and learn from what our team members and physicians have to say about how we are doing, what’s working and where we can improve. So, I’m excited to share that our 2024 TriHealth Engagement Survey launches later today and continues through next Friday, June 28. And we want – and NEED – our entire TriHealth Team to participate!

Administered by our partners at Perceptyx, the survey is completely confidential and easy to take, with a simplified user experience and three convenient ways to participate:
  1. CLICK the personalized SURVEY LINK that’s coming to your TriHealth email from Perceptyx on June 17
  2. SCAN the QR CODE to the right
  3. TEXT 2024SURVEY to 513 540 2234
Our ability to make TriHealth the best place to work, to practice and to receive care relies, in many ways, on your feedback. And through listening opportunities like our annual engagement survey, we have made encouraging progress to improve in ways you’ve said are most important to you, and some of these include:
  • Prioritizing open and honest two-way communications at the system, local hospital and department levels
  • Getting Staffing Right
  • Fostering a supportive work environment with a continued focus on team member and physician wellbeing
  • Creating a culture of physical and psychological safety
Click here to review more details about the many ways we are working to make TriHealth the employer and health system of choice based on your feedback! And please, plan to participate in the 2024 TriHealth Engagement Survey before the June 28 deadline, so we can continue to work together to make TriHealth the best it can be for YOU and for all those we serve. THANK YOU!!

Join Us Tomorrow at Noon for the June Team Member Town Hall
And speaking of important ways to “see” and “hear” you – in addition to the annual engagement survey – we have hardwired a number of two-way communication practices, tools and channels to keep you up to date and in the know, while also actively listening to your thoughts and feedback. And one of those practices is our monthly Team Member Town Hall, where we provide important updates and answer all of our team members’ questions. So, I hope you will join us tomorrow, Tuesday, June 18, at noon on Bridge for our next Town Hall livestream.

Once again, we will share highlights of our work to Get Healthcare Right, celebrate wins, discuss challenges facing our industry and how we are responding, and answer your questions – with some fun TriHealth prizes for those who join the conversation! To do so, be sure to email your questions to TownHall@trihealth.com and click here for a copy of Tuesday’s Town Hall Agenda.

Fostering a Culture of Inclusion and Belonging to Advance Health Equity
Building a culture of trust and belonging, while proactively addressing health disparities is a vital part of our work to bring better care, better health and better value to ALL those we serve. And this week, TriHealth is bringing this commitment to life in the following ways:
  • Commemorating Juneteenth: This Wednesday, June 19, our nation celebrates Juneteenth, the oldest national commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. Juneteenth serves as both a cause for celebration and an important reminder that inequities and injustices still exist in our nation and, even within our nation’s healthcare industry. And this is why, as part of our work to Get Healthcare Right, TriHealth is committed to leading the way in reducing, and ultimately, eliminating, health disparities within our system and across the larger community. Health disparities are preventable differences in the burden of disease, injury, violence or opportunities to achieve optimal health that are experienced by socially disadvantaged populations. And sadly, even in 2024, in the world’s wealthiest nation, health disparities still exist!!! And one of the many underlying causes is a lack of awareness, understanding and trust. So, addressing these causes and others will help to ensure that EVERYONE has access to high-quality, affordable care when, where and how they need it most.
TriHealth will celebrate Juneteenth with events taking place across our system, including:
  • A screening of “Breaking the Silence: A Black Nursing Documentary.” Sponsored by TriHealth and bi3, this film brings to light the struggles faced by Black nurses and nursing students and inspires action to create an inclusive workforce. The screening will be held on June 19 at 11 a.m. at Baldwin with livestreams at Good Samaritan, Bethesda North and Bethesda Butler. Click here to learn more.
  • And, inspired by a Juneteenth culinary tradition, our Food Service Departments at Good Samaritan, Bethesda North, and Bethesda Butler hospitals, as well as TriHealth Norwood, will offer red-themed foods on June 19, like strawberries, cherries, and apples.

  • Serving as Official Healthcare Provider for Cincinnati Pride: June is also National Pride Month, which recognizes and celebrates the LGBTQ+ community. For TriHealth, National Pride Month is another important opportunity to “live” our TriHealth mission and values by continuing to actively engage with and serve our rich and increasingly diverse community. And one way we will do this is to, once again, serve as the official healthcare provider for Cincinnati Pride, which takes place this Saturday, June 22 at Sawyer Point Park. I look forward to joining members of our PRISM Employee Resource Group, along with TriHealth team members and volunteers, to represent TriHealth and serve our community throughout the day. And, we plan to offer vital health screenings, fun giveaways, and a cooling tent to beat the heat! Learn more about PRISM on Bridge
