The “Vaccinated for YOU” community awareness and communications campaign concludes with why’s from John Ward, Stacy Kelly and Bryan Strader, MD.

Below the testimonials see tangible ways you can participate in the "Vaccinated for YOU" campaign, helping educate and motivate all our patients and community members – when eligible and available – to get their COVID-19 vaccine.

During the 2021 Super Bowl several TriHealth team members shared their why’s for getting the COVID-19 vaccine in a TriHealth Public Service Announcement (PSA). Click here to watch the PSA or view below.

John Ward, Senior Vice President Regional Operations

“During the pandemic, we lost my father-in-law and we could only have 10 people at the funeral, we have been separated from family members and friends and had to cancel a wedding to occur in January for my son. While all of these things are an impact to my family, that is not why I am getting the vaccine. My why is for the front-line workers in our COVID units, ICU’s and ED’s. As I round in these units I see how scared, tired and stressed our team members are as they care for those suffering with this horrible virus. I can help put this pandemic behind us by getting my family to vaccinate and speaking about the importance to others. I believe this is the best path to ending this horrible disease.

Stacy Kelly, MSN RN CNML, Director ED/CDU/ICU/PCU/Telemetry, Bethesda North

I chose to receive the vaccine because I felt I had a duty and obligation to the community, our patients and most importantly, myself for my family. Every day as I round on my units, I see nurses, PCA’s, providers and other workers in the healthcare industry committing to caring for our patients and having the courage to do so knowing we are at an even higher risk of exposure. I continue to read about the increase in cases and death tolls related to the virus and a lot of people have not been able to be with or touch their loved ones for quite some time. The virus had kept me away from my mother for nearly a year and I know there are countless others who are experiencing the same limitations and long to be with their loved ones. Many of us have unfortunately lost a loved one to the virus or know someone close to us who has experienced a loss as well. So, when the vaccine became available and I was asked by Terri Hanlon-Bremer if I would consider being one of the first to be vaccinated, I jumped at the chance! I was honored and proud to do so! Taking the vaccine puts us all one step closer to our loved ones and one step closer to hopefully eradicating this deadly virus!

Bryan Strader, MD, President of TPP, CMO of Trihealth Ambulatory Services

Knowing more now about the science related to this virus, there is only one thing that will meaningfully and sustainably quell this pandemic; vaccination. COVID-19 has had a tremendously negative impact on our communities, health systems and overall way of life, so I want to do my part personally to see better days ahead. I feel it is my duty to protect others through my actions.”
