Hi Team –
As we conclude our long-awaited Healthcare Heroes Week, I hope you felt the “love” and genuine appreciation! We were so excited to celebrate and recognize YOU last week – our more than 12,000 team members and physicians – for who you are and all you do, not just during this public health crisis, but throughout our multi-year journey to get healthcare right for all those we serve, always! Our leaders from across the system were out and about rounding on teams throughout the week (safely, socially distanced with masks on, of course!) to show our appreciation and to thank you personally for your inspired response to the COVID pandemic, and all the subsequent challenges since! We also had a lot of fun saluting our remarkable TriHealth Team at our special Healthcare Heroes virtual Town Hall, and hope you had the chance to participate! To check out the highlights on Bridge, click here. To watch the full Town Hall, click here.
While COVID did not allow us to gather and celebrate together in large groups, we were pleased to be able to show you and your families our gratitude with a LaRosa’s pizza dinner at home, on us! So far, nearly 2,000 team members have enjoyed the celebration meals, and we’ve enjoyed seeing all the pictures you’ve shared of your family pizza parties, like the ones shown here … keep them coming! And to date, more than 7,500 team members have already ordered their Healthcare Heroes t-shirt! If you haven’t done so yet, click here to order yours today. We have more than 12,000, one for each team member and provider to wear proudly!
Another highlight of the week was receiving more than 360 Healthcare Heroes submissions recognizing the many selfless acts of heroism from our physicians and team members during this pandemic. From heartwarming stories of extraordinary patient care to unbelievable examples of courage and compassion, ALL those nominated demonstrate what it means to be a true Healthcare Hero! And they are just a sampling of thousands of similar stories occurring quietly without fanfare throughout TriHealth over the past seven months! In my next Weekly Update, I’ll share a link to Bridge where you can read – and be inspired by – every story we received!
FY21 One Campaign dialed down to respect widespread COVID hardships. In a year that has asked us all to give so much, we have made the decision to scale back our traditional One Campaign in favor of a more low-key approach. We recognize the many daily hardships team members now face in our new COVID reality and do not want to create additional burdens or distractions during this incredibly challenging time. While we remain committed to supporting the vital community-focused work of our partners – the Foundations, ArtsWave, United Way, and Ride Cincinnati – this year, the choice to give will be a personal and private one – free of pressure or expectations. There will be minimal campaign promotions and events, and you’ll only hear about the campaign just a few times – today, in this Weekly Update and in a letter mailed to homes from our Foundations. Team members, leaders, and physicians who would like to give to the organization of their choice may do so through the end of this year by simply clicking here or visiting Bridge. One fun event that will be back by popular demand this year is the COVID-style – virtual Ride Cincinnati – click here to join my virtual team! There’s no entry fee, no minimum fundraising goal and you’ll get a really cool free Team TriHealth bike jersey! I can’t wait to ride with what I hope will be our biggest TriHealth Team yet – so be sure to sign up for a great time supporting a great cause!
TriHealth Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month: Sept. 15 – Oct. 15! Hispanic Heritage Month is a national celebration of Americans whose ancestry can be traced back to Spain, Mexico, Central and South America, and the Caribbean. To celebrate at TriHealth, our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) team has some fun and educational activities in store, including a weekly feature on Bridge spotlighting a TriHealth leader of Hispanic heritage, beginning this week with Marla Silliman – click here to read Marla’s personal story. Fun fact – Marla’s quite an accomplished salsa dancer! Throughout the month, you’ll also learn about some of our other Hispanic team members and physicians making an impact at TriHealth and in our community. And we’ll finish the month with a special Hispanic Heritage Town Hall on October 20 at 12:00 pm, livestreamed on Facebook and Bridge. This next DEI Town Hall conversation will feature a panel of Hispanic leaders, physicians, and community members sharing their experiences and stories – be sure to tune in!
Last Call – Take the Pulse Survey by Sept. 25! If you haven’t done so already, please take the time this week to complete the quick and confidential online Team Member Engagement Pulse survey before it closes on Friday. The link is available in the email sent from Press Ganey last week. Your feedback allows us to continue to make improvements at TriHealth that matter most to you, so please don’t miss this important opportunity to let us know what you think!
Regional COVID-19 Stats Remain Stable. For the second week in a row, we’ve seen encouraging signs that COVID prevalence in our region is stabilizing, as outlined in the sidebar chart to the right. With more and more students returning to school classrooms and campuses though, we must stay extra vigilant about adhering to COVID Always Behaviors in order to avoid new spikes in cases.
Thank you for everything you are doing to continue to keep our patients, our community, and each other safe, healthy, and well cared for in our ongoing COVID reality!
Flu Season is Coming Soon!
All TriHealth team members, clinical and non-clinical, are required to get a flu vaccination by Friday, Nov. 6, 2020. It’s free, easy, and protects our patients, team members, and families. As healthcare providers, it is our responsibility to do all we can to reduce the chance of spreading this common virus throughout the community. Visit Bridge to find out more, including days and locations for Employee Health flu shot clinics.
Pillar Performance Update
Each month the analytics team assembles a report for each pillar goal's performance over the past month in a format that is easy to read and understand. Visit Bridge to download a PDF report to share with team members.
New Temporary Pandemic Telecommuting Policy
While COVID-19 is in our community, the health and safety of our team members and their families remain essential. As mentioned at last week’s Town Hall, the COVID-19 Pandemic Temporary Telecommuting Policy (13_ER29.01), effective Sept. 1 through Dec. 31, 2020, allows eligible team members to work remotely and physically distance, whether they are on-site or at home. Visit Our Policies (TIPS) to review the policy and take action, if needed.
