Hi Team!
I am writing to share more exciting news related to our journey to get healthcare right! In recent years, we’ve talked a lot about the “new realities” of healthcare – including growing consumerism, population health, and emerging non-traditional healthcare competitors, such as retail stores and online retail giants – that are disrupting the traditional healthcare delivery system to offer consumers the care they need when, where, and how they want it. And as you know, TriHealth has boldly embraced these new realities head on through innovation and industry leadership, all to get healthcare right!
Later this morning, we will announce publicly that TriHealth and Walgreens – a nationally recognized retail healthcare leader – are joining forces to transition seven existing Cincinnati-area Walgreens Healthcare Clinics to TriHealth at Walgreens Clinics! Slated to reopen in the first quarter of 2020 as TriHealth at Walgreens Clinics, TriHealth will operate these clinics and provide clinical services inside seven Walgreens stores located throughout Greater Cincinnati. The TriHealth at Walgreens Clinics will offer consumers convenient access to affordable, high-quality healthcare for uncomplicated illnesses and injuries and chronic care follow-ups, with no appointment necessary. The walk-in clinics will be fully integrated into TriHealth’s comprehensive network of primary care practices and priority care centers to provide the right care at the right time in the right location at the right price! The clinics will be staffed by TriHealth’s advanced practice nurses and will operate seven days a week, including evenings, weekends and holidays, serving as an after-hours option for our primary care offices. Please refer to the attached Q&As for more details.
These retail clinics will reach a segment of the population that oftentimes does not have a regular primary care provider, which gives us the opportunity to build a trusted relationship with them when and where they need healthcare most – in the moment and close to home. These clinics will be an extension of our primary care offices and will serve as a referral source for our existing primary care and specialty services. By integrating these clinics into TriHealth through a common electronic medical record and TriHealth clinical oversight, patients can be assured access to the highest quality, comprehensive, coordinated care at the appropriate level for all their health and wellness needs.
Walgreens is among the most trusted names in retail healthcare and TriHealth is increasingly recognized as the health system of choice throughout the region for physicians, team members and patients. This collaboration is a natural fit for both organizations and will bring consumers a new level of access to healthcare services. The fact that a nationally recognized retail healthcare giant like Walgreens would choose to collaborate with TriHealth, and entrust its in-store clinics and customers to us, is a testament to YOU, our exceptional TriHealth team that has earned us a reputation for clinical excellence, both locally and nationally! Thank you for helping to make this groundbreaking achievement possible, and for all you do to make TriHealth great. This is a big win for all of us, including and especially our community!
