Hi Team —

This Thursday, March 20, marks the official start of the Spring season. And after a cold and snowy winter, I think we are all ready for the longer, sunnier, warmer days of Spring and the outdoor fun ahead!

But before we move onto a new season, I hope you will join us tomorrow at noon on Bridge for our March Team Member Town Hall livestream. We will review our FY25 pillar goal performance, update you on our FY26 annual planning and strategic refresh process, showcase our culture, people, and service line work, and of course, answer your questions and give away some great TriHealth prizes!

Getting Healthcare Right through an Integrated System of Care and Destination Centers of Excellence – Comprehensive Stroke Care

  • As part of our continuing Weekly Update series highlighting the role TriHealth’s Centers of Excellence (COEs) play in Getting Healthcare Right, this week, we’re featuring our Comprehensive Stroke Care COE.
  • And when it comes to Getting Stroke Care Right, there is nothing more essential than delivering the right therapies in a timely and precise way to successfully treat patients suffering from a stroke – and ultimately, save and improve lives.
  • So, our Neuroscience Institute and Stroke Service Line, led by Dr. Chris Zammit and Dr. Andy Ringer (pictured right), have made it their mission to lead the way in Getting Stroke Care Right.
  • And through important clinical partnerships across the region, investments in our facilities, technologies, clinical best practices, and our amazing people, they are doing just that!!
  • Since 2018, our Neuroscience Institute and Stroke Service has:
    • Achieved stroke certification from The Joint Commission for all TriHealth hospitals and emergency departments – more than any other health system in the region!
    • Adopted and hardwired evidence-based clinical guidelines that are producing the best possible clinical outcomes.
    • Expanded timely access to complex stroke care through a team of stroke neurologists and, when needed, expedited transfer to the highest level of stroke care at the Good Samaritan Comprehensive Stroke Care Center
      • Leveraging the specialty stroke expertise of Good Samaritan Hospital, our partnership with Mayfield Brain & Spine, and our own growing clinical team, we’ve been able to provide comprehensive stroke center support, not only for our own hospitals and ambulatory sites but for other hospitals and health systems in the region as well.
      • This has resulted in an increasing number of doctors and patients turning to TriHealth for the very best stroke care anywhere.
    • Reduced “door-to-needle” (therapeutic intervention) times to achieve American Heart Association (AHA) “Get with the Guidelines” standards with 100% of our patients, compared with industry averages that sadly fall below 50%! And that translates to lives saved and forever improved!!
    • Recruited a world-class team of stroke neurologists and other clinicians, and developed the clinical expertise, to launch our own Stroke And Neuroscience Emergency Team (STANSE), pictured right.
  • Today, TriHealth is consistently outperforming recommended AHA “Get with the Guidelines” standards, with numerous AHA Quality Awards for excellence in stroke care, placing our system among the nation’s highest-quality stroke care providers and an industry leader!!
  • So, without a doubt, TriHealth’s Comprehensive Stroke Care Center of Excellence is Getting Stroke Care Right – our care is better, our stroke patients are healthier and recover more fully, and as a result, we are caring for a growing number of stroke patients throughout the region!

Bethesda Lyceum Supports DNA Discovery with TriHealth

  • Last Thursday, a capacity audience of nearly 500 supporters of the Bethesda Foundation and Bethesda North Hospital gathered to celebrate the 24th annual Bethesda Lyceum at the Hard Rock Casino.
  • The event raised more than $230,000 in support of TriHealth’s Precision Medicine and “DNA Discovery with TriHealth” – an innovative risk assessment and disease prevention and treatment program that promises to provide more precisely targeted and personalized care for patients.
  • Take a look at this brief video on how precision medicine is the future of medicine and the many impactful ways DNA Discovery with TriHealth will elevate and better target the care we deliver to our diverse patient population.
  • A special thank you to the Lyceum Planning Committee and the entire Bethesda Foundation Team for planning and hosting another successful and fun evening.
