TriHealth Bridge

December 03, 2021

The final day to participate in this year’s One Campaign is Monday, December 13th. Last year, your generosity allowed 331 team members to receive support during a time of need through the Team Member Emergency Fund, which is primarily funded by TriHealth team members.

Dodo Sery, LPN, works for TriHealth Hospice of Cincinnati. Months ago, he and his family’s liv es were devastated by a fire that took their house.

“I was called by my neighbor that my house was on fire,” he said. “I had to leave work and run home. By the time I arrived at the scene, the second floor was gone by fire. We lost everything.”

During a time where he was already dealing with personal struggles, he found himself at a loss for what steps to take to help protect his children.

“It was a tough time for me,” said Dodo. “I didn’t want to put my family in a tough spot.”

As the family dealt with the major loss of their shelter, belongings, and wealth, this team member had to remain steadfast in caring for his four children who would soon begin school. On top of that, though his house had burned, he was still having to pay the mortgage while renting a temporary home for his family.

Not knowing where to turn, his team members and supervisor stepped up to help. Dodo’s supervisor shared information about the Team Member Emergency Fund with him. He submitted an application, and his case was accepted.

“They helped me tremendously,” he said. “They saved my life - they saved my family.”

Donations to Bethesda, Good Samaritan and McCullough-Hyde Foundations are needed to make this level of team member support possible. The opportunity to give is still available. You can choose to give to the Team Member Emergency Fund or select another area that means the most to you. Every donation, no matter the size, makes an impact on those we serve and each other.
