Hi Team!

Wow – what a few weeks it’s been for TriHealth in the news! The word is getting out what amazing care is provided by our over 12,000 team members and physicians!!!

For the first time ever, local television station and CBS affiliate Channel 12 has produced and aired a documentary to explore timely healthcare issues by highlighting the work of one of the region’s health systems. Titled “Saving Life,” this commercial-free, 30-minute program focuses exclusively on TriHealth and how we deliver the best, safest – and, in many cases, lifesaving – care to each and every patient. And on Sunday, ABC’s Good Morning America nationally broadcast a story of the lifesaving cardiac care provided to one of our patients at Good Sam.

From cutting-edge technological and surgical advances to the latest breakthroughs in screenings and genetic testing to prevent the onset of disease and illness, the documentary tells the stories – from perspectives of our own patients and providers – of how TriHealth is leading the way in caring for the Greater Cincinnati community. “Saving Life” also highlights TriHealth’s work in developing innovative care and financing models to shift from a traditional disease-focused delivery system to one that promotes health and wellness – allowing TriHealth doctors and team members to deliver the right care at the right time to produce the right clinical outcomes. A link to this exciting documentary is included below, and I encourage you to watch it at your convenience.

I want to offer a special shout-out to the physicians and team members who participated in the documentary and the Good Morning America story: Andy Ringer, MD; Doug Adams, MD; Gaurang Gandhi, MD; Brian Kuhn, MD; Puvi Seshiah, MD; William Martin, MD; Kevin Joseph, MD; Shalonda Greene, RN; Clinical Nurse Leader Denise Krabbe; Genetic Counselor Karen Huelsman and Rev. Frank Nation, as well as Freidoon Ghazi, MD, and the staff of Good Sam.

I hope you enjoy “Saving Life” and the Good Morning America story as much as I did, and encourage you to spread the word to your colleagues, patients, family and friends so they can see how TriHealth is making a difference in the lives of our patients and the community – every day, one patient at a time.

LifeStyles Holiday Health Tip
The “buffet-style” serving system can be a significant challenge during the holidays, but following a few simple tips can help you beat the buffet:

  • Ensure at least one nutritious choice is available by contributing a healthy dish such as a fruit salad or roasted veggies.
  • Enjoy “comfort” foods and drinks by taking smaller portions.
  • Say no to food pushers (politely).
  • Move socializing away from the buffet or appetizer table to prevent mindless eating.

Weekly Huddle Message: Mission Moment
During the holiday season our SERVE values guide our care for a diverse community of patients, families and team members by Respecting All People, Differences and our own Spiritual Heritage. This link will provide posters describing a few of the many holidays taking place during this season: Advent, Christmas, Hanukkah, Las Posadas, Kwanza and Hajj. Blessings to you and those you care for during this sacred season of the year. - Rev. Frank Nation, VP of Mission

Comments:

It would have been nice if you mentioned the specific unit who was directly involved in the care of the patient in the WLWT & GMA reports.
