TriHealth welcomes the eight physicians and 60 staff members of TriState Orthopaedic Treatment Center, now part of the TriHealth Orthopaedic and Spine Institute.

The addition allows our system to provide more quality, comprehensive care to the community and gives the newly aligned physicians and staff direct access to our integrated network of health care providers and services for patients.

More about Our Newest Physicians

  • Thomas A. Carothers MD: Dr. Carothers received his medical degree from and completed residencies in general surgery and general orthopedics at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and American Board of Independent Medical Examiners.

 

  • Haim Cohen DPM: Dr. Cohen received his medical degree from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine and completed his residency at Jewish Hospital of Cincinnati in the Department of Surgery. He is certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and specializes in limb salvage, wound care and foot and ankle trauma.

 

  • Clyde E. Henderson MD: Dr. Henderson received his medical degree from and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and specializes in diagnosing and treating arthritic conditions and sports-related injuries.

 

  • Andrew Islam MD: Dr. Islam received his medical degree and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Case Western Reserve University. He completed a sports medicine fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Islam is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and specializes in sports medicine and shoulder surgery.

 

  • Nicholas Mirkopoulos MD: Dr. Dr. Mirkopoulos received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed his residency at the Summa Combined Orthopedic residency program in Akron, Ohio. Dr. Mirkopoulos is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and specializes in sports medicine and total joint replacement, including anterior hip replacement.

 

  • James Muccio MD: Dr. Muccio received his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of North Carolina. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and holds a subspecialty certification in Sports Medicine. In addition, Dr. Muccio practices general orthopedics, which includes fracture care and arthroscopic, reconstructive, and joint replacement surgery. He has a special interest in the treatment of knee and shoulder injuries.

 

  • Thomas E. Shockley Jr. MD: Dr. Shockley received his medical degree from Meharry Medical College and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Shockley is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He specializes in sports medicine and joint replacement.

 

  • Jeffery L Stambough MD: Dr. Stambough received his medical degree from the West Virginia University School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Pennsylvania. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and the American Board of Spine Surgery. He is the first spine surgeon in Ohio with a subspecialty board certification in Spine Surgery. Dr. Stambough specializes in the treatment of all spinal disorders, back and neck pain and scoliosis.
