TriHealth helped promote healthful habits for team members by participating in the third annual Cincinnati Team Member Health and Fitness Day, which took place Sept. 25 on Fountain Square.
The event highlighted the importance not only of staying active, but of employers offering opportunities for physical activity. Dozens of companies participated, including TriHealth Corporate Health, which co-sponsored the event with Humana.
The event was hosted by FIT Together, a Cincinnati wellness collective of six companies with a vision to inspire team members to be their healthiest.
Chair of FIT Together, Mike Otto kicked off the event with an overview of the FIT Together concept.
"By the time we retire, we would have spent approximately 90,000 hours at work," he said. "FIT Together's responsibility is to offer health and wellness in the workplace."
TriHealth is also committed to workplace wellness as part of our mission.
"TriHealth's mission is to improve the health status of the people we serve, whether it is patients who come through our doors, members of our Fitness and Health Pavilion or our own 11,000-plus team members," said Terri Hanlon, chief operating officer of Corporate Health.
"As an employer, offering wellness at the workplace is the right thing to do."
TriHealth Women's Services mobile mammography van was on site at the event and served as an example of wellness services provided to team members and the community.
