Thanks to those who recently participated in TraumaScope 2013, presented by the TriHealth Center for Simulation & Education at the Oasis Conference Center in Loveland.
More than 100 people, including paramedics, nurses and physicians, attended the event.
Keynote speakers included Dr. Jerrilyn Jones, an attending physician at Boston University and Boston Medical Center who was at the finish line of the Boston Marathon after this year's bombings; and Dr. Jan Scaglione, a pharmacist and clinical toxicologist from Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center Drug and Information Center, who discussed street drugs in the city.
In addition, three educators from the Center for Simulation & Education led four break-out sessions:
- Jo Ann Frey MS, RN, ACNS-BC, CRRN, and Jennifer Conger RN, BSN, EMT-P, led discussions on airway management and tracheostomies.
- Andrew Rice MS, EMT-P, led discussions on capnography and the center's resuscitation lab.
- Brian Pio BA, EMT-P, led discussions on pediatric medication dosing review.
