TriHealth Bridge

October 23, 2018

Skinner_JennyWe are pleased to announce that, following a thorough six-month national search that considered both internal and external candidates, our own Jenny Skinner has been selected as TriHealth’s next Chief Nursing Executive. She will assume this new role at the end of the month and will transition out of her existing role as quickly as possible. Jenny is succeeding Mary Irvin, who had graciously agreed to delay her planned retirement until we could finish the search and selection process. The process to replace Jenny’s current role will begin within the next few weeks.

Many of you know Jenny as TriHealth’s Senior Director of Organizational Effectiveness, a role she has held since 2003. However, Jenny began her career in 1978 as a nurse at Mercy Fairfield and served as a head nurse there from 1981 to 1990. She joined TriHealth as a Nurse Manager at Bethesda North Hospital in 1990. She later served as the Coordinator for Nursing Quality Improvement, Manager of Corporate Education, and Director of Corporate Education/Nursing Support Systems. She brings to this position an important mix of clinical and leadership experience, and a track record of success.

We want to extend a special thanks to the medical staff, front-line nurses, nurse leaders and administrators who participated in the review and selection process. They demonstrated respect for this process as well as a keen understanding of the vital role our nurses play in providing our patients with the safest and highest quality care. They also recognized that our status as of one of a handful of health systems in the country to have achieved system-level Magnet designation depends on having the best nursing team guided by effective nurse leaders who are committed to our mission.

Please join us in congratulating Jenny as she embarks on her new role and opens this next chapter in her professional journey with TriHealth.
