After serving more than 20 years as TriHealth Corporate Health Medical Director, Doug Linz, MD, MS, has shared his plan to retire effective January 5, 2019. An innovator in the field of employer-based health services, Dr. Linz early on championed the critical importance of health and wellbeing in the workplace. In addition to providing clinical oversight and strategic guidance for Corporate Health’s occupational medicine, onsite medical and employee wellness services, he has been the chief physician for TriHealth’s Executive Health program, which serves many of our region’s top business and community leaders. He also has provided clinical input to TriHealth’s Employee Health Program, with responsibility for the health system’s more than 12,000 team members.Dr. Linz looks forward to spending his retirement with his wife, Dr. Deborah Middaugh, who also will be retiring. “It is difficult to express how much my work with TriHealth has meant to me, both professionally and personally,” he shares. “I understand that work is supposed to be about what we do, not who we are, but I believe that I’ve often purposely crossed that line.”
Corporate Health currently is pursuing and evaluating options to ensure a smooth transition of medical leadership. Dr. Linz is an integral part of that process. As Corporate Health COO Terri Hanlon-Bremer notes, “Doug’s obviously one of a kind, and we have immense gratitude for his impact and innovation in leading the Corporate Health division these past two decades.” She adds that more information about the transition will be shared once more definitive plans are in place.
An open-house reception celebrating Dr. Linz is planned for Thursday, January 3, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the TriHealth Fitness & Health Pavilion, 6200 Pfeiffer Road in Blue Ash.
We extend our deepest appreciation to Dr. Linz for his years of clinical excellence, inspiration and caring expertise, and wish him all the best in his retirement.
