Hi Team,
I am writing to inform you that Brian Krause, our vice president of Finance, will be leaving TriHealth on Sept. 7 to become chief financial officer for S&S Healthcare Strategies, a third-party administrator located in Cincinnati.
Brian joined TriHealth in 1996 as a financial analyst and assumed positions of increasing responsibility during his 22-year tenure, including CFO of Hospice of Cincinnati and controller for TriHealth. A true team player, Brian played a vital role in helping TriHealth move from a hospital-based system to an integrated health system. In his role as vice president of finance, he was instrumental in our efforts to restructure TriHealth’s debt and to obtain top-tier credit ratings from Standard & Poor’s and Fitch’s rating services. Among his many accomplishments, he:
- Led the financial planning cycle that includes development of a rolling 5-year forecast along with detailed operating and capital budgets for current year.
- Oversaw $400 million in supply chain spend and was executive sponsor of various cost savings initiatives leading to $15 million in savings during FY 2016
- Led the GL and Financial Reporting portion of the EPIC conversion which led to a smooth transition with no impact on Financial statement reporting
- Coordinated RFP’s for both Commercial Banking and Investment Custodian Services, which led to reduced fees.
In the spirit of increased administrative efficiency, I am taking this opportunity to adjust the leadership structure in finance. Mike Crofton, vice president of finance operations, will become the vice president of finance while retaining some of his current duties. Kelly Dornheggen, director of budgeting and decision support, and Ryan Hornberger, now a senior manager in finance, will assume Mike’s remaining duties. This structure is consistent with our commitment to developing talented leaders throughout the organization so they and TriHealth are prepared for the future.
While disappointed that Brian is leaving us, I understand his desire to be a CFO. The breadth – and quality – of his work here at TriHealth has given him a solid foundation to be an effective CFO in the for-profit world, and I have no doubt that he will be successful. Please join me in thanking him for his contributions and wishing him well in his new endeavors.
