The Innovation Action Council (IAC) is excited to share progress on its work to lay the groundwork for the TriHealth Innovation Center, including hiring staff and creating new processes. The initial focus of the Innovation Center is to harness and track ideas from every team member to improve the way we serve each other and our patients. This is one of the transformative ways in which TriHealth will lead the market during a great time of change in the healthcare industry. Although the Innovation Center is just getting started, it’s worth celebrating the accomplishments and work that is well underway!
DIGs and JDIs
As you’ve learned, Just Do Its (JDIs) or Do-It Groups (DIGs), are methods that TriHealth team members will use to create solutions to problems or implement something new to make our work places better. Each participant in the July LDI received DIG training and participated in a DIG, and every TriHealth team member will receive DIG/JDI training in early 2017.
Successes Already
After the July LDI training, 139 DIG Team’s recommendations were reviewed by the IAC. The results are excellent! Following are a few highlights:
- The IAC recommended that 124 teams (90 percent) implement their recommendation.
- Sixty-seven percent of all DIGs have a tangible value.
- More than 80 percent of teams focused on improving communication, patient experience, team member engagement, work flows, and ideas to solidify our new values acronym: SERVE.
Innovation Center Staffing
After interviewing multiple internal and external candidates, the IAC has selected Susan Holzmacher as the manager for the Innovation Center. Susan, previously a Senior Clinical Operations consultant working in the Transformation Office at TriHealth, began her new role on Nov. 14. She will immediately focus on hiring the team, launching the software, and preparing to begin DIG and JDI pilots at Bethesda Butler Hospital and TriHealth Kenwood. The IAC will keep you informed of their progress and when you can expect to get involved.
We are excited to share these successes with all team members! You will hear more about these initiatives in the near future. Please contact BrightIdeas@Trihealth.com if you have any questions in the meantime.
