Shortly after the last LDI concluded, Erin Pauley, Lifestyles Assistant Supervisor, witnessed an act of compassion outside of the Northern Kentucky Convention Center that exemplifies the values of the TriHealth Way and what it means to SERVE your community:
“I was sitting in traffic after leaving the garage Wednesday and there was a visually impaired woman walking down the street. She was obviously struggling to get where she needed to be and seemed scared and unsure. I saw 2 individuals walk by her, one hesitated but didn’t help her. I knew she needed help and was trying to figure out how I could help her ( I was in bumper to bumper traffic, on the opposite side of the street), when a woman pulled her car into a parking lot near the blind woman, got out of her car and asked if she needed help. She began walking her into the bus garage (which I’m assuming is where she was trying to get to). I didn’t recognize the woman who stopped to help. I looked for a badge to see if she was in fact a TriHealth team member but couldn’t see well enough. A bus blocked my view shortly after the pair started walking into the garage so I couldn’t see what happened after that.
I really want to believe it was one of our team members, and I know there were plenty of other people in NKY at that time, but the fact that we had 800 leaders departing at the same time makes me think it might be one of our team members. I’m not sure if there is anyway to find out or track this person down, but I was really touched by her actions and it demonstrated that we should all be living these values and our mission in our daily lives, not just while we’re at work or wearing the badge. It has to be who we are not just what we do.”
Thank you, Erin, for sharing your story and thank you to the compassionate person who made the time to SERVE their community and their neighbor in a very special way!
