Lace up for the 2013 Ellie and Tyler's Run, a four-mile race to support Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) research and community education and provide financial assistance to families who have lost a child to SIDS.

The event, sponsored by TriHealth, takes place at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14 at Miami Whitewater Park, 9001 Mt. Hope Road, Harrison. On-site registration runs from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m.

TriHealth's participation in this event has directly impacted babies born at our hospitals. With funds from this event, Cribs for Kids has been able to provide 20 portable cribs per month on average for the past five years to patients at Bethesda North and Good Samaritan.

In addition, proceeds from last year's race, formerly Tyler's Run, went to several other organizations:

• Sid Network of Ohio
• BLOC Ministries Inc.
• Charlie's Kids
• Miami Whitewater Park

Register online through Sept. 1. Pre-registration is $20 and day-of registration is $25.
