Dr. Steve Robbins challenged TriHealth team members to be more open-minded, mindful and intentional about inclusion in their everyday lives during the second annual Diversity Summit, hosted May 28 at Bethesda North.
The half-day event, put on by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, provides TriHealth team members with an update on diversity and inclusion efforts, recognizes Diversity Teams' achievements and thanks those teams for their hard work in championing diversity and inclusion throughout our organization.
In addition, the summit offers diversity education, meant for sharing in the workplace. As the featured educational workshop presenter, Dr. Robbins talked about his unique concept of "Unintentional Intolerance," which has drawn wide acclaim across the U.S.
His approach does not blame or point fingers, but calls attention to personal biases, of which we're often unaware, and challenges individuals and organizations to value others for their unique gifts, abilities and experiences.
Jamie Easterling, Richard Kroeger Recognized for Diversity Efforts
At the summit, two awards were presented to TriHealth team members who have made outstanding contributions to furthering diversity and inclusion efforts in the past year:
- Executive Sponsor of the Year - Jamie Easterling, executive director of hospital operations, Good Samaritan
- Champion of the Year - Richard Kroeger, LIS administrator, Laboratory Services
