Thomas-Susan-150xSue Thomas has been named Director, *ICD-10 and Clinical Integration. She starts her new position on Monday, Nov. 4.

Sue has been leading the design and implementation of the organization-wide ICD-10 training and education program. In addition, she brings a unique set of clinical, operational and management skills from her various past roles in the organization. In her new role, Sue will report to Dr. Dennis Kolb, vice president of Clinical Integration, and will work closely with Dr. Feghali and Craig Rucker, co-chairs of the ICD-10 Steering Committee.

Sue has been with TriHealth for nearly 20 years, and is currently the manager of Education Technology. Prior to that, she was manager of Corporate Education and a critical care educator. Her clinical background was in critical care, trauma and emergency nursing.

ICD-10, or the tenth revision of the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems, will replace the current ICD-9 on Oct. 1, 2014. The federal government has mandated this. ICD-10 represents a massive transition that requires preparation by many people across TriHealth, including physicians, nurses, support staff, coders, and patient accounting.
