Sheba Byrd has been recognized by a grateful patient and her husband with a donation to Good Samaritan.
Along with their gift to the hospital, the couple submitted a note of thanks:
"We cannot say enough good things about Sheba. She was our nurse for two of the three days we were in the hospital following the birth of our twins. Sheba was always smiling and in a good mood ... despite that she was swamped with other patients. What I really appreciated about her was that she took the time to assist with feeding my twins one morning. She sat with me and as we fed the boys; we had a talk like we had been friends for years. I appreciated her help and companionship as I got adjusted to the routine of twins.
Additionally, she assisted with making sure that I could spend an extra night to stay with my twins. (I got discharged and they had to stay another day.)
Sheba is definitely an asset to the team at Good Samaritan Hospital and she made our stay a complete pleasure. Thanks, Sheba!"
The Spirit of Compassion program allows a patient or his or her family to make a donation in honor of a Good Samaritan physician, nurse or staff member who made a difference during their stay, and also share a brief note of thanks.
