TriHealth Bridge

June 04, 2014

TriHealth SeniorLink has proudly served the needs of the frail, elderly population in the Cincinnati area for more than 18 years.

The SeniorLink (PACE) program is aligned with the Ohio Department of Aging (ODA), and TriHealth is required to sign a contract with this statewide department every two years. Based on a recent contract presented in final format in late April, TriHealth decided our organization could not meet the additional requirements and be able to survive financially.

As a result, our system has decided to close the program.

"This was a very difficult decision that included much input and discussion at all levels," Steve Mombach, vice president of Ambulatory Services, Corporate Health and Senior Services, said in an email to TriHealth team members.

TriHealth will begin helping participants transition to community-based programs immediately, with successful transition of participants by Aug. 31, which coincides with the timeline for closing the operation.

This will impact SeniorLink team members, who were notified of this news Tuesday, June 3. TriHealth Human Resources is working with those team members to assist them in securing employment within the TriHealth system.

"While we are deeply disappointed SeniorLink is concluding its services, we are committed to doing everything possible to ensure a smooth transition for our team members and our participants," Steve said. "We thank all of our SeniorLink staff for their commitment over the years."
