Good Samaritan has performed more than 5,000 robotic procedures. Scott Firestein MD, who pioneered robotic surgery at the hospital, performed the surgery.

Dr. Firestein, a gynecologist, performed the first gynecological robotic procedure at Good Samaritan in 2005. He peformed the 5,000th procedure Sept. 15.
