Rian Long, Assistant Nurse Manager for Arrow Springs Emergency Department, has been given the Rising Star Award from the Ohio Emergency Nurses Association (ENA).

The award recognizes a new (fewer than five years) ENA member who has made a significant contribution to the association or emergency nursing. This includes:

• Promotion of ENA as the professional organization for emergency nurses
• Contributions to emergency nursing through quality initiatives using evidence-based practice for improved patient outcomes
• Exhibiting leadership skills in promoting ENA and emergency nursing
• Commitment to excellence, quality and safety of patients
• Commitment to service excellence and the profession of emergency nursing

Rian will be honored and presented the award on April 11 in Columbus at the Ohio ENA's Second Annual Awards Banquet: "Emergency Nurses … Shine Like Diamonds."
