Dear Lord,  

We ask that you bless those that have chosen nursing to be their profession.

We ask that each nurse holds your love in their hearts.

May your strength be their strength as they care for patients and families.

Provide them with the skill and judgment needed, as well as abundant compassion to soften the worries and pain of suffering.

Give guidance to those nurses that extend their caring and healing beyond the walls of this hospital to our community and world at large.

We ask that you give all nurses the ability to see their profession as a special calling that unites the mind, body and spirit.

Help them recognize that their caring practices make an important difference in the lives of their patients.

And, dear Lord, we ask that you bless the endeavors of those that work to bring health to all people across the world.

We ask these things of you, the Great Healer, as we begin a new year full of possibilities and opportunities to share your love and caring with others.
