You can say yes to too much and lose sight of the point and purpose. Add too many good things to your schedule and they cease to be good, for they smother the soul and leave your spirit unwell.

Pray

Lord, sometimes my life seems like a suitcase crammed so full it is hard to close.

Sometimes my simplest plan gets thwarted by an onslaught of things to do, obligations to meet, expectations to rise to.

Have I perhaps promised others (and myself) too much?

Do I pack too much into my waking days?

I want not just to do and achieve, but to be still and receive.

I know that will take a simple heart.

Remember

We are born into simplicity, someone once said, but we die of complications.
