Dear Lord, we ask you to bless the women and men who serve in the profession of nursing.

May your strength be their strength as they care for patients and families.

Provide them with the skill and judgment needed for each patient they encounter.

Give them abundant compassion to meet the worries and pain of suffering.

Give guidance to the nurses bringing care and healing beyond the hospital walls to neighborhoods and homes.

We ask that you give all nurses the ability to see their profession as a special calling.

Help them know that their caring truly heals
the body, the mind and the spirit.

We ask these things of you, God of healing and compassion.
