TriHealth and the Cincinnati Reds welcomed Reds Birthday Babies program members to Great American Ball Park this month for games, giveaways and a parade around the field before the game.
The program, offered to babies born at Good Samaritan and Bethesda North, celebrates the new life of future Reds fans. Children and their parents were allowed to enter the stadium early Saturday, May 3, before the Reds took on the Milwaukee Brewers.
TriHealth and the Reds hosted games for prizes, such as a baby bottle chug-off, baby food-tasting contest and diaper-changing contest. Guests could also learn more about our Women's Services programs and get information in the safety interaction area, set up in the Fan Zone.
In addition, parents and their children were able to walk on the field's warning track in a parade, with Dr. Michael Marcotte, director of quality and safety for Women's Services as grand marshal. Afterward, Ed Anderson and Neka Williams, NICU nurses, along with Ellie and Will Trubisky, twins and former NICU patients, threw the first pitch.
Babies born at Good Samaritan and Bethesda North are part of the Reds Birthday Babies program. As members, babies receive a certificate welcoming them to the club, signed by Bob Castellini, Reds CEO, and Byran Price, team manager. Parents also receive an e-newsletter with exclusive content, special offers, tips from our partners and more.
The next Birthday Babies game is scheduled for Aug. 23 against the Atlanta Braves.
