Starting Thursday, Nov. 13, those who choose to access the public TriHealth wireless network will have to agree to terms and conditions in order to connect on their wireless devices.
The public network is still free and open to all patients and visitors who accept the terms and conditions. Users who open their Internet browser on their cell phone, tablet computer or other wireless device will be redirected to a webpage that asks them to accept service terms and conditions.
Once users select "Accept," they'll be connected to the network and redirected to TriHealth.com. From there, they'll be able to use the network freely, as usual.
This modification to the process to access the public wireless network will prevent devices from automatically connecting to the network, which will cut down on unintentional usage and allow for a faster, more quality connection.
With the rapid growth of our system, demand for wireless Internet access has increased exponentially. At any time, there are more than 4,000 users connected to our network.
In the near future, Information Systems plans to double Internet speed and install new hardware to further improve the network and accommodate demand.
