TriHealth Bridge

A message from John Prout, president and CEO:

Prout-John-150xFor several years, TriHealth has been immersed in the crucial work of preparing for radical changes in health care. We have led dramatic growth in our health care market to improve access for our patients, forged innovative partnerships, maintained strong financials, and implemented systems and operations to support excellence in quality, safety, and service.

We have done all of this with the singular motivation of faithfully fulfilling our mission to improve the health of our communities. But we still have work to do.

Today, I am announcing a change in our senior leadership structure that will allow us to accomplish this in a way that fully leverages the strong foundation that each of you have helped build. The change is that I will remain Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and we will add a new position of President of TriHealth. We will conduct a national search, in addition to reviewing internal applicants, for the president, who will report directly to me. The new president will focus on the broad impact of our health care delivery as we continue our journey of excellence-including our Triple Aim of better care, better patient experience and lower cost to the community-while helping TriHealth thrive as we fulfill our mission, vision, and values.

In addition to my CEO duties, more of my time will be spent working with our partners and stakeholders on our strategic direction and growth, ensuring that we look toward the future and anticipate change while continuing to build bold and innovative approaches to serve our communities. An organizational chart will be finalized in the near future.

Looking ahead is not new for us. The last several years have been filled with dramatic changes as we implemented our strategic plan and stayed ahead of changes in health care. Among our accomplishments in this time:

  • Growing from two hospitals to five and from 80 facilities to 140 sites of care today;
  • Expanding from 9,900 team members (2009) to 11,500 today;
  • Forging partnerships with GE Aviation, St. Elizabeth Healthcare, McCullough-Hyde, and countless community leaders and groups;
  • Implementing best-in-class infrastructure and technology, including TriHealthConnect.

We've accomplished all of this while maintaining strong financials, improving quality, and serving more people in better ways than ever before. We still have communities and people to reach and ways to further integrate our systems. We must continue to focus on the Triple Aim, our strategic priorities, and our mission of building healthier communities as we go about this work. This new leadership structure will help us do that.

Thank you for all you have done to bring about the success we are experiencing today. I am excited to continue working with each of you as we look to the future and delivering excellence each day.
