TriHealth Bridge

September 19, 2014

Do you know a high school student interested in a health care career?

The TriHealth Exploring program starts soon and offers students a free opportunity to visit various areas of our system to learn about occupations, required education and duties for many jobs.

The program is provided in conjunction with the Dan Beard Council of the Boy Scouts. Students - male or female - must be at least 14 years old and currently enrolled in high school.

Dates for the program are on Tuesday evenings. Students and one of their parents must attend a meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Dan Beard Council building in Norwood. (Students must be pre-registered by Sept. 30 to attend. See registration details below.)

All other program dates are for students only and take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.*:

  • Oct. 14, Bethesda North - Maternity/Emergency
  • Oct. 21, Bethesda North - Perioperative
  • Oct. 28, Good Samaritan - Respiratory/Logistics
  • Nov. 4, TriHealth Fitness & Health Pavilion - Occupational Health/Fitness
  • Nov. 11, Good Samaritan - Pharmacy/Rehabilitation
  • Nov. 18, Bethesda Outpatient Center - Laboratory/Senior Services and others

*Students are expected to attend all seven meetings.

As a requirement, students must provide a negative TB skin test result from within the past 12 months and receive a fall 2014 flu shot. Flu shots will be offered (for a cost) at the Oct. 7 meeting.

To register, contact Julie Huckaba at the Dan Beard Council of Boy Scouts at 513 577 7735 or Julie.Huckaba@scouting.org.

The deadline to register is Sept. 30. TriHealth's program accepts 20 students and is offered only in the fall.
