As TriHealth Priority Care's third location (in Anderson) was opening in May, its second location (Mason) was celebrating its one-year anniversary. Staff and a few visitors marked the occasion with a small reception and cake.
TriHealth Priority Care opened its first site in February 2013 on Glenway Avenue in Western Hills as a new concept in care. More than an urgent care center, Priority Care provides physician-staffed walk-in care and, in most cases, the co-pay is the same as that of a primary care physician (PCP) office visit.
Priority Care treats urgent, but less-than-emergent issues, such as broken bones, minor sports- and work-related injuries, minor burns and wounds. Locations provide X-rays and laboratory tests on site for certain conditions.
Since opening, the Mason site has seen more than 8,000 patients, conducted nearly 2,000 lab tests and performed nearly 1,400 X-rays, according to Jeffrey Heist, regional manager for TriHealth Priority Care.
"I'm also proud to say we have patient satisfaction scores in the 92nd percentile," he says.
Priority Care fosters relationships with area physicians by giving their patients an option after hours or when there are no appointments available. Alternately, Priority Care Mason made nearly 500 referrals to PCPs and more than 250 referrals to specialists for patients needing follow up care.
TriHealth Priority Care is open seven days a week, including evenings and most holidays. To learn more, visit TriHealth.com/institutes-and-services/priority-care/.
