TriHealth Heart Institute has teamed up with the American Heart Association and the Cincinnati Bengals to produce this video that shows how simple it is to provide effective CPR and save lives with a simple method called Hands-Only CPR.
TriHealth Heart Institute and the AHA would like people to watch this video and share it on social media to make their friends and family more aware of what they can do in the case of cardiac arrest.
Because 88 percent of cardiac arrests occur at home, the likelihood of having the opportunity to use CPR to save the life of a loved one is much higher than the possibility that someone will called on to save a stranger.
The goal of this campaign is to increase the rate of bystander CPR. According to the AHA, effective bystander CPR provided immediately can double or triple the chance of survival, yet only 32 percent of cardiac arrest victims get CPR from a bystander.
If 5 percent of TriHealth team members shared this video on Facebook, we’d have the potential of reaching millions of people.
Note: Hands-Only CPR is for community CPR providers indicated for CPR provided in the community. It is not utilized by health care providers for CPR provided in the health care setting. Training in Hands-Only CPR is not a substitute option for health care provider CPR training.
