TriHealth Bridge

November 09, 2015

clement-markI am pleased to share the first of what will be a regular series of monthly updates from me providing timely highlights of major system news and events. This is just one of many new standardized team member communication tools that John Prout and I will be introducing over the next several months to help keep you – our nearly 15,000 team members, physicians and volunteers – informed and engaged during this time of significant and rapid change occurring in our industry and throughout TriHealth. We are working hard to take our communications from good to great – and welcome your feedback along the way about what’s going well and what we can do better!

Update on CEO John Prout: As I shared last month, John Prout is recovering comfortably at home after his surgery, and is on-track to make a full recovery. I talk with him several times a week and he continues to be extremely grateful for your prayers and well wishes, and looks forward to seeing you all after the holidays.

Dearborn County Hospital Affiliation News: Over the past 10 months, TriHealth has been in discussions with Dearborn County Hospital (DCH) in Lawrenceburg, Ind. to establish a strategic and clinical affiliation between our two organizations. I am happy to report that we have come to an agreement and will publicly announce the planned affiliation early next week – with the relationship formalized over the next few months. This affiliation differs from the recent McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital relationship in that it does not change the ownership of the hospital, its governance, administration or management.

The partnership with DCH provides an exciting opportunity to collaborate with a high quality community hospital and its physicians to offer Dearborn-area residents a wider range of nationally-recognized clinical programs close to home, while providing seamless, affordable access to highly-specialized care when needed at TriHealth’s Good Samaritan and Bethesda North hospitals.

DCH is a general medical/surgical acute care hospital. The county-owned facility serves the Indiana counties of Dearborn, Ohio, Ripley, Switzerland and Franklin, in addition to nearby communities in Hamilton County, Ohio and Boone County, Kentucky. Additionally, the hospital owns DCH Physician Partners, which is comprised of 38 primary care and specialist physician practices located in offices throughout Southeastern Indiana.

This strategic agreement is another indication of the remarkable progress TriHealth has made under John Prout’s leadership to become one of the leading integrated health care systems in the Midwest. John and I look forward to sharing more about our Dearborn affiliation in the coming months, as plans are finalized.

Team Member Forums Start Next Week, November 10-13: Please plan to join me, our site leaders and your colleagues at one of our Team Member Forums next week (see schedule below).  We’ve expanded both the number of live sessions and the locations to make it easier for more people to attend in-person. As usual, the forums will also be streamed live on the LinkNet homepage, where anyone inside the TriHealth network can watch on their work computer.

I am excited about the opportunity to meet many of you and to share what I’ve learned so far in my time here at TriHealth. I also look forward to your questions and input – and will devote the majority of our time together to an informal discussion. If you would like to submit questions in advance, please send them to Marketing_Communications@TriHealth.com. We also have a few surprises in store, including a special message from someone you won’t want to miss, so be sure to attend!

Thank you for all you do for TriHealth, and for all those we serve. I hope to see you next week!
