Hi Team –
I am thrilled to share the creation of the TriHealth Neuroscience Institute in partnership with Mayfield Brain & Spine, a world leader in neurologic surgery! The Institute will provide state-of-the-art surgical care for the brain, head, neck and spine, as well as advanced stroke care for patients in the Tri-State area.
Our two organizations have been collaborating for nearly 80 years and this latest advancement will greatly enhance patient access to the most comprehensive and integrated neurologic care in the region. The Institute brings together world-class clinicians and state-of-the-art facilities and technology from Mayfield Brain & Spine and TriHealth Physician Partners — supported by TriHealth’s neuroradiology, neuropathology and other clinical disciplines. The Neuroscience Institute will serve as a destination Center of Excellence for neurologic and neurosurgical care, offering patients throughout the region a single point of access to a full continuum of neurological services and treatment.
This is great news for our patients, the community and our two organizations! TriHealth Neuroscience Institute will offer broad coverage and immediate access across Greater Cincinnati, ensuring our ability to bring Mayfield’s highly specialized expertise to patients throughout the area during a time of growing need.
TriHealth and Mayfield have a long and successful history of collaborating to serve the patients of greater Cincinnati. Expanding our partnership with the region‘s largest neurosurgical group –and one of the most respected in the nation – further strengthens TriHealth’s commitment to provide convenient and often life-saving access to unparalleled clinical expertise for patients seeking neurological services in the Tri-State region.
Andrew Ringer, MD, Mayfield’s Director of Cerebrovascular Surgery, will lead the TriHealth Neuroscience Institute, supported by Dr. Christopher McPherson and Dr. Michael Kachmann, who will serve as Neurosurgery Site Directors at Good Samaritan and Bethesda North, respectively; along with Dr. Richard Curry, who will serve as the Director of Neurology for TriHealth.
TriHealth will invest more than $40 million in equipment, specialized staff and facilities over the next several years to expand upon and further integrate an already robust neuroscience program across the system. A new neuroscience intensive care and step down unit will be constructed at Good Samaritan Hospital. TriHealth will also invest in new, state-of-the-art diagnostic surgical navigation and intervention technologies to ensure patients receive the latest methods of neurologic and neurosurgical care and treatment. The Institute will begin taking patients immediately, and you can direct those looking for more information to call 513-853-5555 or visit TriHealth.com/neuro.
This groundbreaking partnership with Mayfield Brain & Spine and creation of the new TriHealth Neuroscience Institute are testaments to the extraordinary talents, reputation and capabilities of our collaborative neurological care teams across TriHealth’s inpatient and ambulatory care settings! Together with Mayfield, we are well positioned – and on our way – to build a world-class, destination Center of Excellence to support our region’s growing neurological care needs. It’s an exciting time to be a part of TriHealth and we’re grateful to have the best healthcare team in our industry to lead the way!
