February 25, 2019
Happy Monday!!! We all know that it’s been said that health care is “local,” like politics and real estate. Well, the same is true for most dimensions of team member engagement and communication! In an effort to continue to improve communications and team member engagement, we have made the decision to evolve the format and agenda of our Quarterly Team Member Forums, which have in the past focused largely on system topics and initiatives. While these topics remain important, local hospital, practice or ambulatory campus plans, accomplishments or challenges are also important and of interest to our physicians and team members. So, beginning in March, we will launch a series of twice-a-year Town Meetings which will be facilitated by the local leaders of our hospitals, ambulatory campuses, practices and other business units. We plan to have system leaders including myself in attendance at most Town Meetings but primarily to answer system-related questions rather than to facilitate the meeting. Our Team Member Forums will continue but will now be held twice a year alternating with local Town Meetings–with the next series of Forums scheduled for June. Look for more details about our March Town Meetings including dates, times, and locations in future editions of Weekly Update and from your business unit leaders.
One topic that we expect to be discussed and reviewed regularly at local Town Meetings will be the TriHealth Way of Serving–specifically, AIDET + the Promise and the Always Behaviors. We have made encouraging progress over the past several years, but our patients and family members tell us regularly that we remain far too inconsistent. So, our work today—and a major topic for our March Town Meetings—is applying these core service practices that spring from our SERVE values in our day-to-day work –to the point where they are second nature and how we deliver care the TriHealth Way. I look forward to seeing many of you at our upcoming March Town Meetings!
February was another important month for TriHealth as we achieved a number of impressive wins, including:
• The success of the Good Sam Foundation’s 35th Annual Gala, which raised over $606,000 to support the TriHealth Cancer Institute’s Personalized Medicine Program, the Good Sam Free Health Center, and the Medical Education Research Fund –programs that directly impact our patients, community and team members
• Our announcement to reposition TriHealth Evendale Hospital to the region’s first dedicated orthopedic hospital, in partnership with Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine and the TriHealth Orthopedic & Sports Institute
• Bethesda North recognized as a Top 50 Hospital by Healthgrades –one of only three Ohio hospitals to receive this honor
• Record-breaking efforts in our practices, hospitals and EDs in administering over 100,000 flu shots (and counting!) during this high-risk flu season to keep our patients healthy
• The launch of our new online provider directory, offering a more robust tool for community members and team members to find and schedule an appointment with a TriHealth provider
• The continued roll-out of the Voalte clinical communication platform, which will continue to improve and promote more efficient communication between providers to better serve our patients
Thank you for all you do–and for your work in carrying our sacred mission of service –each and every day as we continue to make TriHealth the place where people want to work, where physicians want to practice and where the community chooses to receive their health care.
