Hi Team –
On Wednesday and Thursday of next week, TriHealth leaders will be off-site at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center to participate in our next quarterly Leadership Development Institute (LDI). As we’ve shared, the LDIs are a central part of our system-wide initiative to introduce, teach – and ultimately, hardwire – the practices that define our new “TriHealth Way… of Leading, Serving and Delivering Care.” And I’m pleased to share that we’re receiving encouraging feedback from you that this investment is paying off!
Last month, nearly 8,000 team members completed a Leadership Effectiveness Assessment – and the scores were impressive! On a scale of 1 – 5, the average overall score was 4.5, or 90% positive, meaning that our team members generally affirmed that our leadership team is embracing the TriHealth Way of Leading practices – and it’s making a real difference! And true to form, when better practices are adopted and mastered, improved team member engagement follows. Our most recent Team Member Pulse Survey results showed similar improvement, with engagement and satisfaction scores now solidly in the top quartile! This is a great proof point of the value and impact of the LDI, especially when you consider that these scores were near the bottom quartile just 12 months ago. We are pleased you are finding the new TriHealth Way practices valuable, and appreciate your efforts and teamwork to make them successful for the benefit of our patients and each other!
The theme for the April LDI is “Moments of Truth: Why Every Single Interaction Matters,” and it begins the next phase of our TriHealth Way work focused on “Serving.” Our aim through this work is to establish a “signature” TriHealth Way Patient Experience that is marked by truly exceptional service – provided to every person we serve, at every encounter. Your leaders will return from this LDI with a new set of tools and practices to help you seize the Moments of Truth in your own workday.
And it’s not just leader education and development that we’re investing in – we’re committing many resources to help you, our team members, learn and grow too! Over the past few months, we have actively engaged all 12,000+ team members in interactive discussions and development activities, including our New Realities Conversations and Always Behaviors. In addition, nearly 4,000 team members have received training in First Impressions. We’re also now providing Peer Interviewing training to team members in departments with open positions, so they can serve as Cultural Guardians in our hiring process. Additionally, we’re empowering team members across the system to become SOAR Champions, and plans are underway to expand our Bright Ideas and Lasting Impressions training in the months to come.
Thank you for your continued support and commitment to help us all embrace and adopt a better way – The TriHealth Way! The investments we’re making in our team members and leaders are contributing to remarkable progress on our journey from good to great – and we’re grateful for your hard work!
