Well April may have come and gone quickly, but it had no shortage of exciting activities and impressive achievements here at TriHealth! Following is an update on our latest progress – and important milestones – on our journey from good to great…
TriHealth Re-designated as a Nurse Magnet System
I am extremely proud to share that earlier this week, we learned that TriHealth was unanimously re-designated with Nurse Magnet status by the American Nurses' Credentialing Center (ANCC), an affiliate of the American Nurses Association. The Magnet Commission cited that “TriHealth is a great organization!” The designation is awarded to hospitals and/or health systems where:
- Nursing delivers excellent patient outcomes.
- Nurses have a high level of job satisfaction.
- There is a low staff nurse turnover rate.
- There is active nursing involvement in data collection and decision-making in patient care delivery.
TriHealth is 1 of only 27 health systems nationwide to achieve the system-level Magnet status – and 1 of only 2 systems in Ohio!! Our thanks and congratulations go out to Chief Nursing Officer, Mary Irvin, RN, and our Nursing Leadership Team and staff, as well as our entire TriHealth Team – for living our values and demonstrating excellence in all we do for our patients and customers! We’re grateful for your service!
April LDI Ushers in Next Phase of TriHealth Way Work
Earlier this week, we brought our 800+ leaders together for our fourth quarterly Leadership Development Institute (LDI) – capping off the first full year of our three-year journey to adopt and consistently demonstrate the TriHealth Way... of Leading, Serving and Delivering Care. This LDI marked an important milestone in our work to introduce and hardwire our TriHealth Way evidenced-based leader practices. Team member engagement satisfaction scores are now solidly in the top quartile (according to our latest Pulse Survey) and leadership effectiveness is receiving high marks from team members. So now we’re ready to launch the next phase of our TriHealth Way work focused on “Serving,” while continuing to strengthen leadership effectiveness and team member engagement.
At the April LDI, we introduced our unique TriHealth Way “signature” patient experience set of practices (see graphic below). We also shared, through many meaningful patient stories, why every interaction matters in creating an exceptional experience—and how the patient experience is both grounded in our mission and values and is an essential contributor to the healing process.
You’ll be learning all about these new principles and practices in the coming weeks and months as your leaders begin to work with you to hardwire them over the next year. This work will be followed in the fall with the launch of our TriHealth Way of Delivering Care best practices, centered around patient safety, quality improvement and building a culture of reliability. Together, these practices will set TriHealth apart in the marketplace as we work to become the preferred provider that consistently “gets healthcare right” for all those we serve.
