Hi Team -
Batter Up! Today, our beloved Cincinnati Reds open the season with a home game at Great America Ballpark, an exciting sign that spring is in the air – a time of new beginnings, great hope and a fresh opportunity to get it right! At TriHealth, we are ushering in spring with continued progress throughout March to get healthcare right for all those we serve. We also made important strides in our vision-driven work to become the provider and employer of choice for our community and team members.
National Top 100 Recognition Affirms We’re On the Right Track
In March 2016, we launched our five-year strategic plan work – the next phase of our journey from good to great. Since that time, every TriHealth physician and team member across our more than 140 sites of care has been actively engaged in all aspects of our efforts to make TriHealth a great place to work and to receive care. And we’ve been consistently measuring system-wide progress through our annual Pillars Goals and Balanced Scorecard performance across Quality/Safety, Culture/People, Service, Finance and Growth.
This March, we received yet another validation that our hard work over the past two years is making a difference. Our two flagship hospitals – Good Samaritan and Bethesda North – were both named to the IBM Watson Health (formerly Truven Analytics) list of 100 Top Hospitals in the U.S.! This exceptional national endorsement was based on an objective and independent assessment of our quality/safety, efficiency, patient experience, clinical outcomes and financial performance – the same measures that are defining our Triple Aim work to improve care, improve health and improve value for every patient we serve. What a terrific affirmation that we’re headed in the right direction! All credit for this goes to YOU, our wonderful physicians and team members! To celebrate, we’re planning a system-wide recognition event in your honor – so look for more details coming soon.
TriHealth Leads the Way to Get Healthcare Right
At every stage of life and in every state of health, TriHealth is committed to exceeding expectations for safety, quality, service and clinical outcomes. More than ever before, we’re focusing our investments and resources on the vital work of making it easier for people to access healthcare services and to maintain their best health. As outlined in my January Update, this work is referred to as “population health.” Its primary aim is to help our patients live healthier, better lives by providing convenient access to world-class, multi-disciplinary, team-based care and services that result in improved health, enhanced patient experiences and greater efficiency. As part of this ongoing work to build our population health capabilities and infrastructure, this month, we reached several exciting milestones:
Harold M. & Eugenia S. Thomas Comprehensive Care Center: On the Bethesda North Hospital Campus, we firmed up plans to begin construction in mid-April on the Harold M. & Eugenia S. Thomas Comprehensive Care Center. This new 135,000-square-foot facility will allow us to co-locate and integrate the full range of cancer and cardiac care programs and services – including the Mary Jo Cropper Family Center for Breast Care – within a multi-disciplinary Center of Excellence for our growing community throughout the Tri-State region. The state-of-the-art campus will become a preferred care destination offering an invaluable source of hope, healing and peace of mind to both patients and family members. The first phase of development will involve construction of a new 500-spot parking garage to be located across from the ED on Montgomery Road.
Ambulatory Center in Liberty Township: We also completed all final planning and approvals to move full-steam ahead on our multi-year plans to create a 100,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art Ambulatory Center in Liberty Township on property acquired at the intersection of Cox Road and Liberty Way. During the first phase, we will develop a 50,000 square-foot facility, which will become a regional destination for comprehensive primary care, specialty and outpatient services.
I’ll share more details about these two landmark projects in future Updates.
Better Choices for Better Health – ACTIVE Open Enrollment: April 2 - 13
Our commitment to improve the health of our community begins with our people. We want to make it as easy and affordable as possible for you and your family to maintain your best health. One important way we do this is through the Total Rewards healthcare benefits we offer – many of which are being enhanced in our HMO plan based on your feedback. A few of the many ‘wins’ you’ll learn about in Open Enrollment materials and system-wide Benefit Fairs include:
Simplified health plan designs
No HMO premium increases, in spite of the fact that healthcare costs are going up 5-10% this year
Lower copays
New coverage for e-visits and TriHealth medical massage
Lower health plan premiums and higher TriHealth HSA contributions for TPP and Corporate Health team members to align their benefits with ALL other TriHealth team members – at a cost of more than $1 million to TriHealth
Continued savings on 90-day maintenance and mail-order drugs
Because of these improvements, and other changes – including the transition to a new plan administrator and a new pharmacy benefit manager –ALL team members will need participate and make active benefit selections in this year’s Open Enrollment, which takes place from Monday, April 2 – Friday, April 13 in HRCentral. Before you enroll, please review the new covered provider network directory for both the HMO and HD plans.
