Hi Team --
June 30 marked the official last day of TriHealth’s Fiscal Year 2016 (FY16) – a year of impressive accomplishments, transitions and exciting new beginnings! Before we turn the page to the year ahead, I’d like to share a few highlights of the past twelve months – and most importantly, recognize YOU – our remarkable TriHealth team – for making the year truly historic in terms of progress and growth!
It’s hard to believe, but the end of FY16 also marks my one year anniversary with TriHealth. As I reflect on the past year, I feel a great sense of gratitude, pride and excitement for:
- The warm welcome and continued support I have received from our TriHealth family and the Greater Cincinnati community as I transitioned into the roles of President and CEO.
- Our people – An exceptional team of talented, caring and enthusiastic individuals who consistently go above and beyond – each and every day – to make TriHealth better for each other, for our patients and their families.
- Where we are and what’s ahead – TriHealth has continued to make solid progress in establishing itself as a nationally-recognized, integrated health care system during this challenging time of industry reform. And with our bold, new Strategic Plan now in place, we are well on our way to transforming TriHealth into a true model health system, uniquely positioned to deliver exceptional patient care, improved health and outstanding value to every individual we serve.
FY16 Key Highlights
System Growth: In FY16, we expanded our service offerings and regional footprint to enable our patients to more conveniently access the total care they need at every stage of life and in every state of health. Highlights include the:
- Dearborn County Hospital affiliation and planned launch this fall of the TriHealth Hospitalist Program
- Opening of the new TriHealth Rehabilitation Hospital
- Expansion and modernization of Bethesda Butler TriHealth Hospital
- Acquisition of Liberty Township property to build a state-of-the-art TriHealth Ambulatory Campus
- Opening of our new TriHealth Kenwood facility
Operational Excellence: Through the discipline, hard work and resourcefulness of all of our TriHealth physicians, leaders and team members, we exceeded our FY16 system budget goals for the year – putting the system on solid financial footing for the year ahead – Way to Go!!
Making TriHealth a Great Place to Work and Practice: As you know, in FY16, we launched a system-wide effort to establish a consistent TriHealth Way of Leading & Serving. We also intensified our commitment to improve team member engagement and satisfaction to ensure our team members feel excited about coming to work, involved in our plans for the future, and valued for their contributions. This effort has already resulted in dozens of new and improved programs and activities, including our quarterly Leadership Development Institutes (LDIs), more frequent and varied system communications, Leader Rounding, Stop Light Reports, Monthly Department Meetings, increased investments in team member recognition, and much more! At our Team Member Forums earlier this month, I heard consistently from our people that they are encouraged and excited by the changes they are seeing. And we’ve only just begun!
What a Year, What a Team! Thank you for your dedication and hard work during this year of transition, growth and new beginnings! It’s an honor to serve you, and I look forward to the important work we will accomplish together in the year ahead.
