Right Care, Right Place, Right Time
At TriHealth, we are on a mission to provide better care that's convenient and cost-effective. It's been proven that more accessible and appropriate care is essential to improve the community's overall health. The healthier someone is, the less they spend on health care.
It's a delicate balance - providing the right amount of care, but not too much. We're challenging ourselves to re-think traditional care models.
Better Care, Not Busier Hospitals
Hospitals previously focused on raising volume to lower costs and survive in an era of smaller reimbursements. That may be a good business strategy in some categories, but not in health care today.
Take bariatric procedures, for example. Our goal was to perform the operation well and reduce recovery time. That's fine - but it was about the hospital stay, not about the patient's long-term health.
The real goal isn't to do the surgery - it's to help patients lose weight, be healthy and change their lives so they never have to consider surgery. We can do that more effectively when our care teams are nearby, not located far from the patient.
Making Decisions Easier
We'll keep digging to understand what people value. With more responsibility for their own health care costs, consumers are taking a more active role in their treatment and in selecting their providers. We're working hard to help make those decisions simpler.
Do we still need hospitals? Absolutely. But as one part of a total system of care that makes it easier for people to be healthy.
