Bethesda North Trauma Services will present its next Quarterly Case Review, "How Fractures Become Deadly," from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 4 at Bethesda North in Golder Rooms I and II. The event is free.

Objectives

  • Identify assessment techniques and indicators using ATLS guidelines that would increase suspicion of pelvic and associated organ injuries.
  • Describe emergent medical management of the patient presenting with blunt pelvic trauma.
  • Discuss various treatment options and possible complications.
  • Describe and implement initial stabilization methods if pelvic injury is suspected.
