Kisha Britton recently was recognized by the Good Samaritan Foundation's Spirit of Compassion program.
The program allows a patient or patient's family to make a donation and share a note of thanks in honor of a Good Samaritan physicians, nurse or staff member who made a difference during their stay.
A recent patient's wife sent this note:
"Nurse (Kisha) Britton sat with my husband and talked quietly about his feelings with a gentle and nurturing demeanor, which made us both feel so much better. She even brought a candle warmer and candle for him! This astounding gesture shows that she understands the true value of nursing, which brings compassion and human comfort to what is often a mechanical environment."
