Kim Miller, NICU Unit Coordinator at Good Samaritan, and Julie Reynolds RN, of the ICU at Good Samaritan, were selected as Team Member of the Month for July and May, respectively, by the Good Samaritan Firestarters. Here's what others have to say about them:
Kim Miller exemplifies TriHealth values consistently and is respected and valued in the NICU unit. She has a positive attitude and diverse skills, and her work keeps the NICU running efficiently. She comes to work with a smile on her face and a passion to do her very best every day.
Kim has been recognized for her true dedication to the unit as she takes everything it does to a higher level. She drives downtown to pick up Metro passes for patients and families, and she also is very involved in community activities, including those for Knights of Columbus and her her church. Plus, she still finds time for her large family - she has 17 grandchildren!
Julie Reynolds was the nurse in the ICU who was on duty when I got a call from my husband that his grandmother was not going to make it. I rushed to the hospital and made it in time, as heartbreaking as it was to say goodbye.
Julie never stopped caring for our grandmother until her last breath. As she maneuvered around us (we took up the whole room), she never asked anyone to move; she just made it work.
She was a ray of sunshine on a very stormy afternoon. She went above and beyond the call of duty, making us feel like grandma was the only care she had. When the funeral was over, everyone talked about how great of a nurse Julie was. She was a true blessing in our time of sorrow. She deserves more than praise.
