TriHealth Bridge

January 17, 2014

Katie Kirschner, who worked as an intern for TriHealth's Green Committee, has accepted a full-time position as a sustainability consultant for our system.

Katie worked as an intern and optional team member from May until December. She started her new full-time job in January after graduating from Indiana University with a master's degree in environmental science and public affairs.

In her new role, Katie reports directly to Jim Huitsing, director of environmental services. Her office is located on the ground floor of Bethesda Oak.

Katie's presence within our organization represents a new era for our efforts in sustainability. She currently is working with Mike Gabennesch, corporate safety officer and co-chair of the Green Committee, on the upcoming annual submissions for the Practice Greenhealth award program. They continue to coordinate data from relevant Bethesda North and Good Samaritan managers and directors in energy, waste streams,\ and multiple other areas of green and sustainable practices.
