Bay-Heather-150xHeather Bays, a patient care assistant in 5-T200 at Bethesda North, has been recognized with a donation in her name from a patient through the hospital's Spirit of Compassion program.

The program allows patients and their family members to recognize a physician, nurse or staff member who made a difference during their stay with a donation and brief note of thanks.

A grateful family member of a patient recently wrote of Heather: "Heather is everything a PCA should be. My daughter was in for a kidney stone and Heather's smile, sunny and caring disposition, and efficiency in meeting every need was incredible. It just made all the difference. What an asset she is to Bethesda North!"

The Bethesda Foundation delievered the note and recognized Heather with a Spirit of Compassion gift.

Spirit of Compassion informational brochures are available throughout the hospital in waiting areas, lobbies and at nursing stations. Gifts to the program are used to provide support for programs and services at the hospital.
