TriHealth has added five prominent cardiac surgeons to its Heart Institute team. Joining the Institute are Karen Gersch MD, Loren Hiratzka MD, Eric Okum MD, Steven Park MD and J. Michael Smith MD. With the addition of these five physicians, the TriHealth Heart Institute now has a total of 28 doctors, including cardiologists, cardiac thoracic surgeons and vascular surgeons.

"The addition of these five surgeons creates a structure for deeper collaboration among primary care physicians, specialists and the hospital, working with a shared vision that will ultimately improve care for our patients and our community," said Jerry Oliphant, executive vice president and chief operating officer for TriHealth.

The surgeons who joined TriHealth now have offices at 10506 Montgomery Road, Suite G103, and at 3219 Clifton Ave., Suite 215. The locations are on the Bethesda North and Good Samaritan campuses, respectively.
