For the seventh consecutive year, Good Samaritan delivered more babies than any other hospital in the state of Ohio during the calendar year. In 2012, Good Samaritan delivered 6,351 newborns, edging out Riverside Methodist (Columbus) Hospital's 6,224 deliveries. The data was compiled by the Ohio Department of Health and the Office of Vital Statistics.

Bethesda North was the only other Cincinnati hospital listed in the top 10 (ranking eighth) with 4,134 deliveries during 2012.

"It is an honor to again have attained this distinction and we are gratified our community has entrusted us with the privilege of being the place where more babies are born than anywhere else in Ohio," said Lori Uphaus, Administrator for Women's Services at TriHealth.

"It is a reflection of the excellent quality and unsurpassed dedication of our physicians, midwives, nursing and support staff who have the knowledge and experience to provide whatever care is necessary, never forgetting that each and every birth is so very special."

During the year, Good Samaritan delivered 201 sets of twins and 20 sets of triplets. The female births outnumbered the males by 229. Thirty-nine Emmas arrived safely at Good Samaritan during the year, edging out the 36 Williams born. Other popular names included Mason (35), Benjamin (33); and Lilly and Grace (29 apiece).
