Michael Marcotte, MD, Director of Quality for Maternity Services, was nominated for the 11th annual Richard M. Smith, MD, Leadership in Patient Safety Award, presented by the Greater Cincinnati Health Council.

The award recognizes a person who exemplifies four principles like Dr. Smith did. They are: Communication within the organization, service as a role model to enhance patient safety, collaboration with other hospitals in the area to promote a “culture of safety,” and dedication to implementation of patient safety initiatives.

“One of the many valuable assets Dr. Marcotte provides our team of providers is his constant encouragement to go beyond good and focus our attention on perfection,” said Georges Feghali, MD, Senior Vice President, Chief Medical Officer and Chief Quality Officer, in the nomination letter.

Dr. Marcotte is a graduate of Xavier University and completed both his fellowship and residency at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo.
