In addition to blood donations, Hoxworth will accept platelets during the Monday, Oct. 13 blood drive at Bethesda Oak.

The blood and platelet drive runs from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. that day. Register online at Hoxworth.org/groups/619oak, or by calling 513 451 0910.

All donors will be entered to win a Microsoft Surface 2 tablet computer with a keyboard cover.

Recent regulation changes have affected platelet donor eligibility. To find out whether you're eligible to donate platelets, call the Hoxworth appointment center at 513 451 0910. Inform them you are donating at Bethesda Oak on Oct. 13.

Hoxworth has issued a critical need for type-O blood and platelet donors.
