Deborah Novak CMA has been elected to serve a two-year term on the national board of trustees of the American Association of Medical Assistants.

Deborah, practice manager for Queen City Medical Group (TPP Anderson), has been a part of AAMA since 1982, voluntarily serving in positions at the local, state and national levels of the organization.

As a trustee at the national level, Deborah will help oversee the business aspects of AAMA. The organization supports member education, scope-of-practice protection and health care quality advocacy for patients.

"My connections with the CEO of the AAMA and the national board have proven to benefit TriHealth in answering scope-of-practice questions for our administration and corporate education department," Deborah said.

She has served as practice manager for Queen City Medical Group for 11 years and has held her medical assistant certification for more than 20 years.

Medical assistants work alongside physicians - mainly in outpatient or ambulatory care facilities - and are cross-trained to perform administrative and clinical duties.
