The de Cavel Family SIDS Foundation has awarded a $10,000 grant to TriHealth’s Cribs for Kids, a collaborative program with Bethesda North and Good Samaritan Maternity Services.

The Cribs for Kids program is dedicated to preventing Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) by making Consumer Product Safety Commission-approved cribs available at a reasonable cost to at-risk mothers.

The grant will help purchase cribs for low-income families to ensure safe sleeping arrangements for newborns.

The de Cavel Family SIDS Foundation (formerly 7 DAYS for SIDS) is an organization founded by Jean-Robert and Annette de Cavel and a dedicated group of volunteers and local restaurateurs.
Their mission is to raise funds for research, education and outreach to prevent SIDS, as well as for the Tatiana de Cavel Memorial Scholarship at the Midwest Culinary Institute at Cincinnati State.

Tatiana, Jean-Robert and Annette’s 3-month-old daughter, died in 2002 from SIDS.
